and Caulerpa lentillifera (Sea grapes or
green caviar) are maricultured specially in Asian countries, due to
their commercial importance. China is the country with the highest
maricultured seaweed production in the world since the
late 1980.
Spirulina farms have undergone an important
development in the last few years. Countries like China,
India, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Bangladesh, New Zealand
are the main producers of spirulina but other projects of
are under development in Togo, Peru and Vietnam.
